Collegiate Brothers

Arthur Alaverdyan

I was born in Yerevan and grew up in the streets of Shengavit. Living in Armenia I experienced a lot of things as a child that one does not usually experience in the US. My family and I moved to the US around the time when I was six. Ever since then, I've been trying my best to become an accepted member of society and develop a career in the field of medicine. Other than my education I've had a lot of fun this last decade and a half in the US; I've developed many close friendships and enjoy hanging with friends talking about cars and women but at the same time I can hold an intellectual conversation. Parting, I would just like to say in the words of the wise sage - Tupac- Hye till I die.

Armen Dermenjian

I was born and raised in the Hollywood ghetto, were I attended Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School. I always had the knack to fix things, so I figure I might as well become an engineer. Now here I am, at UCSD, studying hard to get a degree in structural engineering. Thankfully, I was introduced to a group of young men under the title AEO, who made me realize that college isn’t all about studying. I quickly decided to join AEO and it was all uphill from there. Since joining AEO, I have grown as a person and I now understand what true brotherhood really is. I have and still am making unforgettable memories with these guys. I would like all of them to know that they are making my time in college the best years of my life. "College is the best time of your life. When else are your parents going to spend several thousand dollars a year just for you to go to a strange town and get drunk every night?" –David Wood

David Akopyan

My name is David Akopyan and I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. I have been living in Glendale, CA for 20 years and am currently a student at UCSD. I am a political science -- international relations major and I hope to one day become a competitive attorney.

Hovig Patatian

I was born in Pasadena Ca and spent 21 great years there, thanking God that I didn't live in Glendale (←joke. I make lots of them). I went to Eliot Middle school and Pasadena High School. After graduating i attended Pasadena City College later transferring to UCSD. Upon being accepted to UCSD to study film, I was eager to challenge myself and embrace all the challenges and experiences of living on your own. Among many of my hobbies I enjoy playing basketball, watching my Lakers play, playing poker and watching movies (obviously). In the future I aspire to be a successful producer, as to how exactly how I will accomplish this feat, ask me in fifteen years and we can discuss my answer over a drink and a double apple hookah. ;)

I'm from the golden hills of Tujunga where In n Out meets Foothill Food & Drug.  I'm an Aerospace Engineering student at UC San Diego, and after I get my degree I hope to move on to graduate school where I can really get into what I want to do.  Although it's a tough choice between the two, so far my sights are set on being an Astronautics Engineer over Aeronautics, working with NASA/JPL on testing and development of space craft.  I joined AEO because there's one thing I, heart and soul, believe in:  You only have one life to live, but so does everyone else;  So long as someone like your parents are giving the time of their lives to make your life worth it, so should we do for other people.  And who better than our very own country, the culture that has given life after life for us to be where we are today.  In a way, we owe them more than just our time, but we owe them the courtesy of not making waste of our lives.  To push myself to be the best I can be and give when so much has been given to me is my reason for joining AEO, for being a scholar, and for being a human being.

And to quote one of my idols,
"West Side 4 Life" - "The Don" Nalbandyan

I was born in Iraq, where I grew up idolizing Michael Jordan for eight years of my life. My family and I moved to Los Angeles fourteen years ago and I've been a Glendaleian since. I went to Glendale High School, where I played Basketball for three years (2 years varsity starter). I still consider myself to be a mean baller, so bring it if you got it. I'm currently a fourth year student at UCSD where I am majoring in Economics with a concentration in Management. I plan on becoming a successful entrepreneur one day and running Donald Trump out of town.

Sevak Ohanian

I grew up in Glendale and now live in the beautiful city of La Jolla. I graduated from Herbert Hoover High School and now am attending the University of CA San Diego. My passion in life is film and I am studying that right now at UCSD. In about 10 years you'll be seeing my name in the big screen at the movies and in the small screen accepting my 5th Best Director Academy Award (just wait and see...). Joining Alpha Epsilon Omega was one of the smartest decisions I ever made and I am proud to be one of the founders of the Eta chapter. If you're ever in San Diego in search of a good time, do not hesitate to call. Peace.

Hovannes Nalbandyan

I grew up in Glendale and to this day I can't imagine living anywhere else. I went to Arshag Dickranian Armenian School for 12 years but ultimately graduated from Glendale High School, to this day I don't know which school played a bigger role in teaching me what it means to be Armenian. =P I graduated from UCSD with a bachelors degree in Economics and a minor in philosophy. I love the Armenian culture and am proud of the history and the values that the culture emphasizes. Joining Alpha Epsilon Omega was one of the best decisions of my college career and it allowed me to aid the Armenian community while also giving me a family away from home.

Matt Haroutunian

I was born and raised in the valley, but I love living in San Diego as the city has much to offer. I attended Marie Manoogian for most of my life where I learned a lot (including the importance of driving a Mercedes). After I graduate, I want to get a taste of the real world before I decide which direction I want to go forward in my education. I am proud to be a founding father of AEO Eta Chapter. I love spending time with all the old and new brothers of my chapter as well as brothers from other chapters and I hope to always keep in touch with AEO as an organization. In my spare time, I love hanging out with friends, playing sports, being active, and trying anything that is new and exciting.  Thank you for your time and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Nareg Kalajian

I am a third year transfer student from Pasadena. I attended Pasadena City College for a couple of years and I am currently studying Biology at UCSD. I enjoy helping others and I was also an EMT for several years (so don't mess with me because I might snap!). I plan on attending medical school and becoming a successful doctor (a VERY successful doctor!)  >:O
